about Yachtsnet's services

Yachtsnet is a unique yacht brokerage service, providing very complete and accurate details and multiple interior/exterior photographs of all yachts for sale on brokerage terms, and at the same time offering excellent personal service, combined with substantially discounted commission rates. We normally deal only with sailing yachts and motor-sailers, and we will not represent a boat which we are not able to inspect and photograph ourselves. Click here for our current brokerage list.

Yachtsnet is a complete full-service yacht brokerage - and more.  If you are selling your sailing yacht we offer:

Fast and efficient service - yachts accepted for sale on brokerage can have a preliminary page describing the boat for sale online within 24 hours, and a fully detailed description of the boat with many high quality photographs online within days.

A truly personal service. Every yacht for sale on our brokerage list is inspected and photographed by our staff - so you can always talk to someone with personal knowledge of the boat you are interested in viewing. A Yachtsnet representative accompanies prospective buyers to view yachts offered for sale, unless agreed otherwise with the seller.

Detailed and accurate information. A Yachtsnet representative inspects and photographs every boat offered for sale. Detailed comments on each boat are available on-line, and we take pride in providing the best quality images of each boat for sale.

Lower commission fees - Yachtsnet brokerage commission charges are lower than the 8% industry norm. Our commission charges are retained from the sale proceeds and are payable only after the sale of a yacht is completed. There are no other brokerage charges, unless otherwise agreed. No sale - no brokerage fee.

Classified advertisements - As an alternative to our normal yacht brokerage terms we offer free basic online classified advertisements for all small keelboats or sailing cruisers up to a value of £20,000, plus a paid classified adverts listing with more detail and photos.

Our links page  - genuinely useful and up to date links to marine related sites, including weather, tides, and other sailing resources.

Financial Safety - We hold clients monies in a dedicated Clients Account at Santander Bank UK. We have full insurance.

Assistance with preparation for sale. We advise on how to present a yacht for sale, and if required can arrange boat storage, hauling out, regular cleaning and battery charging, etc, at cost, to make sure that your boat is always ready to be seen at its best by prospective buyers.

Assistance with surveys and sea trials. Once an offer has been made Yachtsnet will liaise with the buyers selected surveyor to arrange the survey, and a further sea trial if necessary. Yachtsnet will not recommend individual surveyors, but we do maintain a quite comprehensive list of surveyors categorised by region.

Whether you are buying or selling a boat,
Yachtsnet offers advantages over
traditional yacht brokerages.

Buying

Selling

You can see accurate and detailed information online for each boat for sale, with many high quality photographs.

Call us and you can talk to someone who has inspected the boat, and can discuss it's suitability for you.

Yachtsnet saves you time, money and effort in visiting unsuitable boats.

You save from Yachtsnet's lower commission fees.  Your boat is advertised very quickly, with professionally prepared details and very high quality photographs.  Yachtsnet can advise on selling prices, and preparation of the boat for sale.  As we have inspected every boat we offer for sale, we can talk knowledgeably to prospective buyers and establish if this is likely to be the right boat for them before arranging viewings.

Yachtsnet is managed by John Wilson, Yachtmaster Offshore, Ocean and Instructor. A chapter contributor to the 5th edition of "Heavy Weather Sailing" by Peter Bruce, he has over 40 years experience of cruising and racing in many different types of yacht, in Europe, the USA and Asia.
